Winemakers founded Artadi in 1985 in Laguardia (Álava), but in 1992 Lacalle family and Laorden family begin to focussed in the cellar. In this moment they have important wines, for example, Pagos Viejos, their wines of parces as Valdegines or La Poza.

Later, they created Artazu (Navarra, 1996) and El Sequé (Alicante, 1999), and Izar-Leku (Guipuzcoa, 2015).

Artadi has 80 hectares of vineyards. Those have limestone lands, gravels and clays. T

he idiosyncrasy of this winery is to maintain the traditions and the ecosystem. To achieve this, the land is respected, seeking sustainability and organic farming, they avoid the use of chemical fertilizers and they carry out sustainable and biodynamic agriculture.

This respect for the land and the vine gives the winery its great national and international recognition. As a result their wines are very well valued year after year.

Artadi decided to leave the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Rioja in 2015.
